Graduate Options and Joint Programs
GRADUATE STUDENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE WITH OTHER ENGINEERING AND UNIVERSITY UNITS
COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING OPTION
The AE Department offers an MS program with specialization in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE). An MS student enrolled in the CSE option is expected to satisfy all regular requirements for graduate study within the AE department and the following additional requirements:
- 4 hours of course work must be from the CSE core courses.
- 4 hours of course work must be from the CSE specialization courses in AE or another department. Some of these courses are listed in the Suggested Program Tracts.

MBA JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM
The joint degree program is open to students who have completed a B.S. degree from an accredited institution and who meet the admission criteria of the MBA program and the MS or PhD program of interest. This joint program is available to both domestic and international students. MEDICAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois is an MD/PhD program committed to preparing a diverse cadre of academic Physician-Scholars to confront the multi-dimensional problems and issues that face medicine. The MSP has approximately 150 MD/JD and MD/PhD students pursuing graduate study in over 30 academic disciplines, including the behavioral sciences, humanities and physical sciences, as well as the biomedical sciences. With such diverse student perspectives, the MSP provides a unique and electric environment for bright and creative scholars to pursue their passion for combining cutting edge research with individualized high quality clinical training. All of the graduate and medical training is done at the Urbana-Champaign campus. The Medical Scholars Program is jointly sponsored by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Graduate College and the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. Only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible for admission.
