According to Laura Gerhold, Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs, a total of 133 freshmen joined AE this fall, along with 13 new transfer students. All but 46 of the incoming students are from Illinois: others reside in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, the Philippines, France, the Peoples Republic of China, Singapore and India. Five of the new undergrads are international.
The average composite ACT (American College Testing) score for the new undergrads is 32.4, with 36 being a perfect score. Many of the new freshmen came into AE’s programs with college credit, with an average of 24 credit hours per student.
The Department has enrolled 61 new master’s degree and PhD students, with the increased number partially a reflection of AE’s kickoff this fall of the new online master’s degree program. Eight students are enrolled online.
Of the new graduate students, 23 are domestic and 38 are international, according to figures provided by Staci Tankersley, Coordinator of Graduate Student Academic Programs. In addition to the United States, the new graduate students come from the Peoples Republic of China, India, and Singapore.
